We are proud to have been entrusted with the delivery of Franzefoss Minerals’ new
crushing, screening, and drying plant at its facility in Ballangen. The Ballangen site,
located in Narvik, is home to one of Europe’s whitest and purest dolomite deposits,
marketed as Arctic Dolomite.
Nordic Bulk is the turnkey supplier of the fine-processing plant, following the existing
primary crushing station and secondary crusher. The project includes the delivery of fine
crushing, screening, and drying systems. The screening process classifies material
down to 0–2 mm. To achieve the required screening quality, the 0–8 mm fraction is dried
in the drying plant before being finally screened into finished products.
The project also includes three large product silo installations, each with a storage
capacity of approximately 1,600 cubic metres, designed for storing 0–2 mm dolomite.
The plant is equipped with modern control and automation systems that enable
monitoring and control of the various processes from a single integrated platform. This
provides excellent production control and contributes to energy-efficient operation. The
facility has been designed with a high degree of flexibility and will be capable of
operating in several production modes, making it easy to adapt output to different
product requirements.
Significant emphasis has also been placed on user-friendliness through modern control
solutions, good accessibility to equipment, and practical features that simplify operation and maintenance. Overall, this results in a facility that meets today’s requirements for efficiency, environmental responsibility, and safe operation.
We greatly appreciate the trust Franzefoss Minerals has placed in us and look forward to
delivering this project in close cooperation with the customer.
