Following an ever-increasing need for recovered pulp from a CDE washing plant, DA Mattsson needed to modernize its plant to keep pace. They needed to scale up. The solution was a giant conveyor.

Challenge
The factories that use the finished goods from DA Mattsson’s washing plant produce all year round. They always need material. As the winter outside Stockholm can dip into sub-zero temperatures for longer periods, DA Mattsson cannot always produce with the washing plant.
In addition, the area around the washing plant is used to sow soil, and the road in and out of the entire plant area runs right by. The road is a highly trafficked artery, and delays there are completely out of the question.
The requirements were
- large enough buffer stock for sale when the frost comes
- good logistics for trucks in and out
- nothing in the way of other nearby processes
- reduce risk for employees on ground level

The solution was to build a 203 meter long and 20 meter high conveyor, which can move back and forth in the longitudinal direction.
Solution
In order to have a large enough surplus stock to supply all winter even if their own production would be at a standstill, we had to create a system that produced large piles.
At the same time, we could not have many supporters standing in the way of other vehicles. The solution was to build higher. A full 20 meters above the ground.

Transportøren virker som en bro over veien. Slik kan lastebiler kjøre inn og ut av anlegget uhindret.
The first conveyor transports the mass from the washing plant to a suitable place to store a large buffer stock. Conveyor number two acts as a telescope. It can go back and forth, and unload as many different products in different piles as you wish.

Flexibility and good capacity
There is no limitation. You can drive it 2 metres, or 60 meters before continuing to load. The piles are left in line.
Regardless of the problem, the Nordic Transportøren can be scaled and built in such a way that ships can have it on the bow , mines can have it on the roof, or recycling plants can have it towering high over the entire area.
