To meet society’s needs, we must constantly find ways to make the production of building raw materials more efficient. At every stage. One aspect that has seen few advances in recent decades is the purchase of spare parts. Purchasing was ripe for change. But how?

Hypothesis

We had an idea that ordering online could be a solution, but first we wanted to find out whether those who buy spare parts would actually shop online.

We had to examine these three questions thoroughly:

  • Do you as a customer want to order online?
  • How will it make your everyday life easier?
  • Why should you shift from the way you order today?

66.2% of those who participated in the survey answered yes.

What is your position?

Among those who responded to the survey were:

  • 34.1% Chief Operating Officer
  • 23% Maintenance Manager
  • 14.3% Buyer
  • 5,6% Quality Manager

Why did you use our website today?

  • 31% look at products
  • 9.5% is for ordering

Over 40% of the customers who visited the website during the test period were in purchase mode, to a lesser or greater extent.

In a larger survey, we investigated the concerns of ordering online.

Most common concerns:

  • Difficult to use
  • Getting the wrong goods

Why book online?

The conclusion was clear: Decision-makers are open to ordering online, but why should we do it? Should we order online, just to order online?

This is where the important questions come in:

  • What benefits do you actually get?
  • Will your everyday life be smoother?
  • Will it help meet the future need for building raw materials?

If we weren’t able to answer these questions well, it wasn’t applicable.
