To increase the capacity of the plant, we have delivered and installed two new conveyor belts (Nordic Tranportøren) of 21 and 23 meters at Elkem Mårnes. We have designed and adapted the new equipment to existing systems.
Mårnes is a quartzite quarry on Sandhornøy in Gildeskål municipality. The business is 100% owned by Elkem AS. There has been production at Mårnes for almost 50 years. The quartzite quarry supplies customers in Elkem and external customers in Norway and Sweden. Elkem is one of the world’s leading companies in the environmentally friendly production of metal products and materials.
The material to be transported is quartzite. This material requires durable materials. It is supplied with wear plates that are easily replaceable. The capacity is a minimum of 300 t/h.
