At Hole in Toten, Franzefoss Minerals AS operates a plant with a long tradition of extracting and processing limestone. The plant produces agricultural lime for the farming industry, lime products for industrial applications, lime for the treatment of acidified watercourses, and various crushed stone aggregates for the construction industry. The products are used for a wide range of purposes, from soil improvement and environmental measures to industrial processes, road construction and other infrastructure.
The facility is now being further developed through the construction of new storage buildings, which will provide increased capacity, improved logistics and more efficient operations.
Nordic Bulk is the turnkey supplier for the new storage buildings, including the associated conveyor and stacker systems.
New Aggregate Storage Facility to Increase Capacity
As part of the project, a new aggregate storage facility is being constructed for the 0–4 mm and 4–8 mm fractions. The storage facility consists of two separate compartments with a total capacity of 2,600 m³.
At the same time, the existing plant is being upgraded to enable the material to be conveyed to the storage facility via a dedicated enclosed conveyor running through an enclosed conveyor bridge. This helps minimise dust emissions and enables more environmentally efficient material handling.

Storage for Fine-Ground Lime Products
The facility also makes use of the finest limestone fractions. These include so-called dust fractions with a particle size below 200 microns (0.2 mm). Through further processing in a grinding mill, the material is transformed into fine-ground lime products used in both agriculture and industrial processes, including agricultural lime and lime filler.
A new storage facility for this product, known as Agri Mel, together with associated conveyors and stacker systems, is also included in Nordic Bulk’s scope of supply. The storage facility will have a capacity of 12,000 tonnes of Agri Mel. Here too, an enclosed conveyor running through an enclosed conveyor bridge is being installed to minimise dust emissions.
To ensure optimal storage and even distribution of the material, a shuttle conveyor is being installed. This enables efficient filling of the storage facility and helps maximise the available storage capacity.
The project is now in its final phase and is expected to be completed in October 2026. We are proud to contribute to this important project for Franzefoss Minerals and look forward to the continued progress of the project.
